Peninsular pronghorn antelope now exist in only a tiny percentage of their former range, in the Vizcaino Desert of Baja California’s Pacific coast. The survey in 2003 found just twenty animals. Fortunately, biologists had initiated a captive-breeding program and this one may eventually be released.
